Iyengar Yoga & Insight Meditation Retreat in Morocco

September 12 @ 6:30 am September 18 @ 5:00 pm Morocco

With Eyal Shifroni (Yoga) & Lila Kimhi (Dharma and Meditation)

Location: Bab Zouina, near Marrakesh and the Atlas Mountains, Morocco

The retreat is intended for people who studied yoga for at least 2 years and are interested to study Iyengar Yoga. No experience in meditation is required.

The retreats in Bab Zouina, already become a tradition, but for September 2024 we offer a special retreat that combines Iyengar Yoga with Insight meditation and the study of the Buddhist Dharma.

I strongly believe in the great value of this combination. I regularly participate (as a student) in Vipassana retreats (in the Insight meditation tradition) where I combine self-practice of yoga with sitting and walking meditation sessions. This has a tremendous positive effect on my mind and body!

The practice of Asana & Pranayama quiets the mind and opens the body for the sitting sessions; while the extended sessions of meditation and the Noble Silence, create an intense concentration which, in turn, contributes to the practice of yoga.

I recommend having this experience. Registration is open!

Lila is a senior Insight Meditation and Buddhist Dharma teacher. Since 2004 She has led Vipassana retreats worldwide and spiritual journeys in remote, spiritual corners of the globe. More about Lila.

Eyal studied and practiced Iyengar Yoga for more than 40 years and Buddhist meditation for the last 20 years.

We both believe that the combination of Iyengar Yoga and Insight Meditation is very effective for creating a positive transformation of body & mind.

Bab Zouina is a little heaven in which the birds are continuously singing among the trees and the blooming flowers. It has a swimming pool, Hammam (traditional Turkish bath), and a tennis court.

The yoga hall in Bab Zouina has a capacity of 30 students and it is equipped with all the necessary props (chairs, wall-ropes, and so on). Karim, the owner, is a wonderful host and also an Iyengar Yoga practitioner.

On the first day, there will be optional excursions in the surroundings of Bab Zouina and, after the retreat, an optional 3-day trek in the Atlas Mountains.
