A Weekend Workshop in Chernivtsi, Ukraine

I had already taught in Kyiv, many years ago, before the war in Ukraine started. I did give some Zoom classes to Ukrainian students when the war broke out. However, I didn’t think I could go there now to teach.
I was surprised when I got a message from Mariya Sevryukova, the Chair of the Ukrainian Iyengar Yoga Association. She wrote: “Despite the difficult times Ukraine is going through, we continue to grow, practice, study, and hold Iyengar Yoga seminars. In October, we established the Ukrainian Iyengar Yoga Association with the support of Abhijata Iyengar.”
The city of Chernivtsi is located in western Ukraine, 30 km from the Romanian border. In this part of Ukraine, there is no military activity.
I was happy to get this invitation and to know that I can come to Ukraine again. I think that they need yoga very much in these difficult times for their country.
